RSV4 X GP Launch 01

Aprilia RSV4 X-GP: Limited edition MotoGP replica sold out in record time

With the RSV4 X-GP, Aprilia has opened another chapter in the history of exclusive super sports bikes. The strictly limited special edition model was unveiled at the Catalan Grand Prix and sold out worldwide after just 14 days. Only 30 units were produced in total, which is likely to have further increased interest among collectors and racing enthusiasts. The retail price was €90,000 (around $97,500) plus VAT.

Global demand and limited availability

The Aprilia RSV4 X-GP has caused a stir not only on the European market, but also in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Malaysia, and the United States. According to the manufacturer, more booking requests were received during the presentation weekend in Barcelona than there were vehicles available. This strong international demand underscores the exclusive status of the X series within the Aprilia portfolio.

Technical highlights and MotoGP technology

At the heart of the RSV4 X-GP is the most powerful engine Aprilia has ever installed in a production bike. The machine delivers 238 hp (175 kW) with a weight of only 168 kg (around 370 lbs). Another press release even states the weight as 165 kg (approx. 364 lbs), which highlights the extreme lightweight construction of this special edition. According to the manufacturer, the resulting power-to-weight ratio offers a riding experience that has never been seen before in Aprilia models.

Technologically, the RSV4 X-GP stands out thanks to numerous features that are said to originate directly from MotoGP development. These include aerodynamic elements such as leg and rear wings, which until now have only been found in this form on the RS-GP prototype in the FIM Motorcycle World Championship. In addition, the model features a load-bearing carbon seat structure for the first time.

Tribute to ten years of RS-GP in Grand Prix racing

The RSV4 X-GP was developed to mark the tenth anniversary of the RS-GP, with which Aprilia has been represented in MotoGP again since 2015. The new special model thus pays homage to the racing history of the Noale-based brand. It is already the fifth special edition of the exclusive X series, which to date includes the RSV4 X (2019), Tuono X (2020), RSV4 X Trenta (2022), and RSV4 X ex3ma (2024).

Media response and brand image

The special model has been met with a strong response not only from buyers, but also from the international media and social networks. The extensive coverage and high number of publications underscore the importance of the RSV4 X-GP as the brand’s technical flagship.

Voices from within the company

Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, emphasizes the special role of the X series:
“X confirms Aprilia Racing’s status as an exclusive and niche brand with enormous potential. Aprilia Racing stands for innovation, and we are proud to see that we have created an iconic brand and a new type of absolutely exclusive motorcycle, designed specifically for track enthusiasts, at both a strategic and product level.”
