Triumph Street Triple 765 in carbon fiber: racing look with MotoGP DNA

The Triumph Street Triple 765 RS is inherently a dynamic representative of the mid-range naked bike class. However, in its latest iteration, it presents itself in a form that is rarely seen: completely clad in carbon fiber, aerodynamically optimized, and with a significantly sharpened focus on racetrack use.

Behind this project is a collaboration between the American mineral oil brand Sunoco, the Korean carbon fiber specialist Factory M Carbon Works, and the Korean magazine Monthly Motorbike. The goal was to take the Street Triple to a new level—both visually and functionally.

Carbon fiber and MotoGP aerodynamics as a basis

The conversion focuses on the extensive use of carbon. Factory M did not limit itself to fairing parts, but made almost every visible element from carbon fiber. The design is based on aerodynamic concepts from MotoGP – specifically, it was inspired by the KTM RC16. In addition, design elements from the KTM RC 8C were incorporated.

The fairing was developed using simulations to measurably improve aerodynamics. Notable features include winglets and air deflectors, which not only provide additional downforce but are also designed to cool the braking system. The front fender unit has also been redesigned by Factory M and performs several functions – from appearance to cooling and aerodynamics.

Paintwork with Sunoco DNA

The color scheme of the project vehicle is based on the iconic look of Sunoco. Blue and yellow tones dominate the fairing, complemented by arrow-like motifs. At the same time, large painted surfaces were deliberately avoided in order to leave the carbon fiber visible. The resulting look is reminiscent of purebred factory racers. The decals were contributed by Dabrabbit Graphics.

Optimizations to the drive

Technical modifications were also made: the Street Triple was fitted with a complete Arrow Racing system and a high-performance air filter from BMC. This combination is designed to give the three-cylinder engine, which delivers 95.6 kW (130 hp) at 12,000 rpm and 80 Nm at 9,500 rpm as standard, even more pulling power and racetrack performance.

First use on the racetrack

The modified bike was tested during the Korean Superbike 2025 One Super Race. Yeonsoo Kim, editor at Monthly Motorbike, took on the role of rider. For Triumph Korea, it was a welcome showcase of how far a production-based naked bike can be transformed into a supersport machine – both visually and technically.

Conclusion

The carbon version of the Triumph Street Triple 765 is an impressive example of what can be achieved with creativity, technical expertise, and a clear focus on racetrack use. Although it is a one-off, the project impressively demonstrates how versatile the mid-range naked bike can be – especially under the current supersport regulations, which allow more technical freedom than ever before.
