Rajputana Customs Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 1

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Radical cafe racer conversion by Rajputana Customs

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is already an eye-catching motorcycle straight from the factory, but Rajputana Customs' latest custom build has taken the model to a whole new level. This project is an uncompromising cafe racer conversion that discards almost all of the original components – only the proven parallel twin engine remains in its original condition.

More Information

Customized technology and striking design

The conversion goes far beyond purely cosmetic changes. A completely new frame and a special swing arm ensure a much sleeker and more aggressive design. This gives the motorcycle an almost futuristic look, with its clean lines and narrow proportions reminiscent of a modern electric motorcycle.

Additional high-quality components are used to achieve the right look and optimized driving dynamics: a handmade aluminum tank underscores the classic café racer style, while the chassis has been brought up to date with a mono-shock rear suspension and USD forks. The front fork is visually identical to the production model, but has been mounted differently for this conversion.

Another highlight are the custom-made spoked wheels, which have been finished entirely in black. Pirelli racing slicks ensure maximum performance and grip for sporty riding. The extremely low-mounted handlebars place the rider almost on the front wheel – a typical cafe racer posture.

Engine remains original, exhaust system brings more sound

The heart of the Shotgun 650 remains the familiar 648 cm³ parallel twin engine, which in stock form delivers 45.3 hp (33.7 kW) at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 51.5 Nm (38 lb-ft) at 5,650 rpm. Thanks to the free-flowing, specially developed 2-into-2 exhaust system, the actual power output is likely to be slightly above the factory specifications, but exact figures are not given.

Cooperation with Royal Enfield

This extraordinary conversion was realized in close cooperation between Rajputana Customs and Royal Enfield itself. The Indian manufacturer is thus continuing its strategy of specifically promoting individual conversions and thus positioning itself more strongly in the international custom scene. Brands such as Triumph and Harley-Davidson are thus facing noticeable new competition in the conversion and customization segment.

Conclusion

With the radical Cafe Racer based on the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, Rajputana Customs impressively demonstrates how versatile the platform is. The combination of classic motorcycle design, modern technology, and creative craftsmanship is likely to thrill not only fans of the brand, but also cause a stir in the international custom scene.
