New chapter in Conor Cummins’ career
Conor Cummins has announced the formation of his own racing team, Conrod Motorsport, for the 2026 Tourist Trophy. Next year will be a special milestone for the Manxman, as it will be his 20th TT appearance. For the first time, he will be competing on a motorcycle from his own team.
The creation of the new team is closely linked to his business, Conrod’s, a café in Douglas that he founded in 2015. The combination of business success and sporting experience is set to open a new chapter in his career.
Focus on the Superstock class
Conrod Motorsport is set to compete in both Superstock races at the Tourist Trophy. The machine to be used has not yet been decided. At the same time, Cummins is exploring his options for competing in the Superbike and Supersport classes in 2026.
Cummins has been regarded as a reliable rider in the Superstock category for many years. Podium finishes in 2010 and 2022 prove his continued competitiveness in this category. In the 2024 season, he finished in the top 6 twice with a BMW prepared by Burrows Engineering, once again confirming his consistency.
Statements from the founder
Cummins said of founding his team: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of running my own team. It’s a big step and a leap into the unknown, but it’s something I’ve considered at various points in my career. With the growth of the company, now seems like the right time. I’m excited to combine my two passions.”
He went on to explain: “Competition is tougher than ever, so I’m under no illusions about how much work it will be. But I’ve been fortunate to work with some great people and teams over the years, and I’ll be bringing all that expertise I’ve gained to ensure I’m in the best possible position when I line up on the grid.”
Two decades of TT experience
With twelve podium finishes, Cummins is one of the most experienced and consistent riders in the Tourist Trophy. His highlights include a Superstock podium finish in 2010 and second place in 2022. In the same season, he achieved an average speed of 133.116 mph, making him the sixth fastest rider in TT history.
Outlook for the 2026 TT
With Conrod Motorsport, Cummins combines its sporting ambitions with its business activities and its long-standing connection to the Tourist Trophy. This has given rise to a new project for the 2026 TT that aims to combine personal motivation, experience, and business identity.
