Art meets speed
Paolo Troilo, an Italian artist from Taranto, born in 1972, is known for his hyper-realistic finger drawings. His latest work, “Centauro”, is a fascinating depiction of human arms in an acceleration pose, which can be seen on the side of the motorcycle’s tank. This depiction is complemented by abstract, geometric shapes that lend the motorcycle a unique dynamism and power. Troilo combines myth and reality in his work, creating a link between superhuman strength and the rational world, symbolized by the design of the Streetfighter V4.
A limited edition from Ducati and Lamborghini
The idea of “myth on wheels” was born in September 2022, in parallel with the world premiere of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini. This motorcycle series, a limited and numbered edition of 630 units, is characterized by a striking paint finish in Citrea Green and Dac Orange. An even more exclusive offering includes a series of 63 motorcycles, the Speciale Clienti, which allows Lamborghini customers to customize their motorcycle in direct collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati. Among these customers was the owner of “Minotauro”, who inspired the creation of “Centauro”.
A bridge between art and motorcycle technology
The “Myth on Wheels” event, to which 200 guests from Ducati and Lamborghini were invited, not only provided a platform for the presentation of “Centauro”, but also underlined the close collaboration between two Italian brands that have helped shape the history of the Motor Valley. Claudio Domenicali and Stephan Winkelmann, the CEOs of both companies, emphasized the importance of this partnership, which promotes not only technical innovation but also artistic expression.
“Centauro” and “Minotauro” are on display at the Galleria Cavour until February 5, 2024 and symbolize the fusion of art and automotive design. Ducati is also supporting the Arte Fiera, a major art fair in Bologna, and is presenting a marble sculpture entitled “Fortitudo Mea in Levitate” during the period of the fair.
“Myth on Wheels” is therefore more than just an event; it is a testimony to the fusion of art, technology and passion that has made the two brands Ducati and Lamborghini famous worldwide.
