Triumph Scrambler 1200 – Bond Edition as NFT

NFTs are currently absolutely in the hype, although not without reason controversial. Now they have also arrived in the motorcycle industry, as the Triumph Scrambler 1200 Bond Edition is offered for sale as an NFT.

Only a digital 3D model

Please don’t be confused, for sale here is not the special edition Triumph Scrambler 1200 created for the movie “No Time to Die”, but basically just a digital image of it. It is a digital 3D replica of the motorcycle from the movie, in scale 1:1. Also included are matching sound files.

Offered are 9007 pieces of this NFT at a price of 165 Gems, which is the equivalent of about 87 dollars or 77 euros (total: 693,539 € for a DIGITAL image). They are offered via the app VeVe.

NFT?

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token, so it is a non-exchangeable data unit stored on a blockchain. NFTs are currently being traded a lot, but they are also involved in a lot of fraud. Often, it is not the image itself that is sold, but only a questionable link to an image, or even images are offered for sale to which the seller does not even have the rights. An artificial demand is also often feigned in order to drive the sales price up. So before you really buy, you should take a closer look.

In this case, it’s probably not really a scam, but is looking at a 3D motorcycle model really worth the money?
