MotoGP – America Grand Prix
8. April 2022 - 10. April 2022
The Circuit Of The Americas is the first purpose-built facility for Grand Prix racing in the United States. The 5.513-kilometer track is located near Austin, Texas, and can accommodate 120,000 fans. Construction of the 400-plus-hectare facility was completed in late 2012 and the first MotoGP race will be held at the track in 2013. One of the track’s biggest features is its elevation changes of nearly 41 meters, with an impressive uphill passage at the end of the start-finish straight that leads into a sharp left turn. The track is one of the most varied on the GP calendar, with a mix of fast straights as well as tight hairpins. At the same time, the design of most sections was inspired by famous tracks around the world. The track was designed by German architect and track designer Hermann Tilke. The direction of travel is counter-clockwise and includes a total of 20 turns with 9 right turns and 11 left turns.
