Cardo Systems, the leading manufacturer of communication systems for motorcycles, recently introduced the new PACKTALK CUSTOM. This is the world’s first communication system with a pay-per-feature option. Users can decide for themselves which features they need and add or remove them on a monthly basis.

The new PACKTALK CUSTOM is an attractively priced entry into the world of communication systems with Dynamic Mesh 2.0 technology. It offers the option of personalization by allowing three different pay-per-feature packages to be added to or deselected from the basic system on a monthly basis.

The new PACKTALK CUSTOM will be launched in April 2023 at a particularly attractive price of €279.95.

The pay-per-feature packages of the new Cardo PACKTALK CUSTOM

In addition to the market launch of the new PACKTALK CUSTOM, Cardo Systems has also added additional features to the Cardo Connect app. This app allows users to add the packages they want for a month or with a price advantage for a whole year, or to deactivate them again.

The new system initially offers the option of using the complete PLATIN package of functions free of charge for a period of four weeks. After registration and the first system start, this test phase begins. After that, the PACKTALK CUSTOM either continues to run in the basic setup or can be upgraded via the app with one of the three currently available packages: SILVER, GOLD and PLATIN.

Difference between the packages

The SILVER package offers additional features to the standard PACKTALK CUSTOM, such as Music Sharing (sharing a music source), 3 audio profiles and phone speed dialing. The GOLD package includes Universal Bluetooth Intercom (including OBI functions), an additional Bluetooth channel (for 2nd mobile phone/TFT/GPS) and Bluetooth Bridge function (integrating Bluetooth systems into a mesh group). PLATIN package includes Natural Voice Operation (voice control) and Eco Mode (battery saving function).

Savings foxes watch out

The short minimum duration of the option packages of one month makes the new system a real insider’s tip for smart spenders. This means that motorcyclists who mostly travel solo throughout the year can benefit from the low introductory price. If a longer tour with pillion/socia or a group ride is planned in the summer, the packages suitable for this special use can be booked with a low monthly fee – for example for “Music Sharing” or the convenient “Live Intercom” function.

Payment and compatibility

Payment for the upgrade packages is handled entirely via the proven and secure channels of the operating system providers – the Apple Store/Apple Pay and Google PlayStore/Google Pay respectively. The new PACKTALK CUSTOM is also compatible with selected accessories for the already launched PACKTALK NEO system – such as the 2nd Helmet Kit 40 mm HD and the 2nd Helmet Kit JBL.

The new PACKTALK CUSTOM has an MSRP of €279.95 and will be available in stores from April 2023. Alternatively, online pre-orders will be available from March 8 at www.cardosystems.com.
