Actually, the new Yamaha YZF-R7 should be presented only on May 18, 2021. Nevertheless, the first pictures of the new model have already appeared on the Internet.

Rumors have long been talking about a new R7 based on the MT-07. A return of the radical sports bike, which was built from 1999 to 2002 only 500 times, so you can not expect.
Yamaha has now published two teasers on social media and announced a presentation for May 18, 2021. That this will be the R7 is an open secret.
The leaked images are said to come from the Yamaha North America page.
Similarities and changes
Even if the MT-07 is the basis, you can already see purely visually the “more” in sportiness, the R genes are clearly visible. Instead of a classic telescopic fork, as in the MT-07, an upside-down fork is fitted. Adjustment options will certainly be available here as well.
The frame seems to have been reinforced, swingarm, wheels and exhaust system look identical.
The face of the R7 is reminiscent of the R6. In the large air intake of the R6, however, a discreet headlight was mounted on the R7. It is flanked by two daytime running lights.
Data still unknown
What the R7 offers in terms of electronics and whether the engine has been revised or retuned for the new model is not yet clear. But it won’t be long before the official presentation.
