Sporty mid-range newcomer: The new Voge RR525 at a glance

With the RR525, Voge is launching a sporty mid-range motorcycle on the market, which is intended to position itself against established models such as the Aprilia RS 457 or the Honda CBR500R with an attractive look and solid technical equipment.  The Voge brand belongs to the Chinese manufacturer Loncin and has already made a name for itself with affordable but technically mature machines.  The RR525 continues along this path – with a focus on sporty handling and a good price-performance ratio.

Engine: High-revving in-line two-cylinder with 55 hp

The Voge RR525 is powered by a 494 cm³ in-line two-cylinder engine with four-valve technology and square dimensions of 68 mm bore and 68 mm stroke.  This configuration is intended to ensure balanced torque behavior and high revving pleasure.  Voge specifies a maximum output of 54.9 hp (40.6 kW) at 8,500 rpm.  The maximum torque is 50 Nm (37 lb ft) and is reached at 7,500 rpm.

The six-speed gearbox is equipped with an anti-hopping clutch (slipper clutch), which promises greater driving stability, especially when shifting down in a sporty manner.  However, according to the manufacturer, a quickshifter is not available.

Electronics: Basic equipment with riding modes and traction control

In terms of electronics, the RR525 is solid, if not outstanding.  A TFT display, three riding modes (Normal, Sport, Leisure) and a conventional, non-lean angle-dependent traction control, which can be deactivated if required, are offered.  ABS is designed with two channels, but there is no lean angle sensor (IMU) – unlike some competitors in this class.

Suspension & brakes: brand-name components for sporty ambitions

Voge relies on high-quality components from renowned suppliers for the chassis.  The upside-down fork comes from KYB (Kayaba), while Brembo is responsible for the braking system at the front.  Here, a single disc works in conjunction with a four-piston brake calliper.  A Nissin brake caliper is used at the rear, the monoshock strut supplier has not yet been named.  Voge uses Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires – a sporty choice that matches the overall characteristics of the machine.

Design & relationship: Sporty offshoot of the AC525X

Visually, the RR525 is clearly based on modern super sports bikes – with a low front end, striking lines and an aggressive silhouette.  Technically, it is based on the already available AC525X, a retro-style street scrambler that is currently on sale in the UK for around £4,999 (approx. €5,850 or $6,300).  Both models share the engine and presumably also large parts of the frame, although the RR525 is more sportily tuned and has higher-quality suspension and brake components.

Market launch & price: No information on availability yet

There is currently no official information on the exact market launch or price of the Voge RR525.  There is also no indication of a planned launch in Europe or specifically in the UK on the global Voge website.  However, if the price is in line with that of the AC525X, the RR525 could represent a very interesting alternative in the A2 sports class in terms of price.

Conclusion:

With the RR525, Voge is targeting sporty beginners and intermediates with an A2 driver’s license.  The machine offers modern technology, a dynamic design and components from renowned manufacturers – a promising combination in the competitive mid-range segment.
