New technologies for greater safety and comfort
Triumph is equipping the Trident 660 in model year 2025 with additional, rider-oriented technologies that are now fitted as standard. The new features include optimized cornering ABS and traction control, which work in combination with a six-axis inertial measurement system (IMU). This allows the electronics to monitor and adjust the angle of inclination, brake pressure and throttle position accordingly. Also new are Triumph Shift Assist, which makes clutch shifting superfluous, and cruise control, which is designed to make longer journeys more comfortable.
The standard TFT display on the Trident 660 also enables the integration of the MyTriumph Bluetooth system, which offers functions such as turn-by-turn navigation, call control and music playback. The electronic package is supplemented by three riding modes: in addition to the familiar “Rain” and “Road” modes, a “Sport” mode is now also available, which promises a more dynamic power delivery.
Revised suspension components for more agility
Triumph has further refined the suspension set-up of the Trident 660 to enable even more agile and precise handling. The 41 mm Showa fork has been upgraded with an SFF-BF system (Separate Function Big Piston), which offers more comfort and control. At the rear, a Showa monoshock with adjustable preload ensures stability and adaptability to different road conditions. In terms of braking technology, Triumph relies on two 310 mm double disc brakes with Nissin brake callipers at the front, while a 255 mm single disc is fitted at the rear. The Michelin Road 5 tires should provide the necessary grip.
Impressive three-cylinder engine with a versatile character
At the heart of the Trident 660 is still the proven 660 cc three-cylinder engine, which delivers a peak output of 81 hp (59.6 kW) at 10,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The engine is characterized by smooth power delivery, with more than 90% of the maximum torque available from just 3,600 rpm. This should ensure powerful yet easily controllable acceleration at both low and high engine speeds.
Eye-catching color options and revised look
For 2025, the Trident 660 will have three new color and graphics sets: Cosmic Yellow, Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red, complemented by Sapphire Black accents and eye-catching diagonal white stripes. A more understated Jet Black variant also remains in the range. This color selection builds on the popularity of the limited edition Trident Triple Tribute and is intended to emphasize the individual style of the riders. The details have also been further improved, for example with new materials such as forged aluminum parts on the upper fork yoke and brake lever.
Flexibility and customization options for every need
With a total of 45 original Triumph accessories, riders can customize their Trident 660. The choice includes heated grips, luggage solutions such as tank bags and a rear pannier as well as a flyscreen. The accessories can be adapted to individual requirements using the Triumph configurator. Triumph also offers an A2 throttle kit for European markets, which allows riders with a restricted A2 license to ride the machine. If an unrestricted A license is later acquired, the vehicle can be converted back to full power by a dealer.
Ease of maintenance and prices
According to the manufacturer, the Trident 660 offers low operating costs and long maintenance intervals. These are 16,000 km (10,000 miles) or every 12 months. The model comes with a two-year warranty with no mileage limit, which should provide additional security and confidence for buyers.
Prices for the new Trident 660 start at GBP 7,895 in the UK, with a price of EUR 8,795 in Germany and a starting price of USD 8,595 in the USA. The machine will be available from December 2024 from the respective Triumph dealers.
