More technology for more versatility
For the 2025 model year, the Tiger Sport 660 receives numerous new, rider-oriented technologies that are usually found in higher displacement classes. The highlights include
– Riding modes: in addition to the previous “Road” and “Rain” modes, there is now a “Sport” mode that offers a more direct response for more dynamic riding.
– Optimized safety: The standard cornering ABS and the switchable traction control provide additional stability when cornering and in difficult conditions.
– Comfort on long journeys: Cruise control and Triumph Shift Assist (quickshifter for upshifting and downshifting) as standard make longer journeys easier.
– Connectivity: The “My Triumph” system enables navigation, telephone and music controls to be used directly via the TFT display.
The characteristic triple engine
At the heart of the Tiger Sport 660 is the tried-and-tested 660 cc three-cylinder engine. With 81 hp (59.6 kW) at 10,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm, it delivers smooth and linear power across the entire speed range. Over 90 % of the maximum torque is available at all times, making the motorcycle particularly versatile.
Thanks to the slip-assist clutch, clutching is made easier, which improves both comfort on long journeys and control at low speeds. The new quickshifter supports fast gear changes and ensures a more dynamic riding experience.
Comfort for touring and everyday riding
The Tiger Sport 660 has been designed to be suitable for both daily rides and extended tours. A 17.2-liter fuel tank allows for long ranges, while the Showa suspension with an easily adjustable rear wheel preload makes switching between solo and luggage riding uncomplicated. The combination of Michelin Road 5 tires and Nissin brakes (front with two 310 mm discs) is designed to provide safety and agility on the road.
The chassis remains manageable, the weight is 207 kg (456 lbs) and the seat height is 835 mm.
Equipment and design
The Tiger Sport 660 aims to impress with well thought-out details such as the integrated holders for side cases, which make it easier to transport luggage. An adjustable windshield, which can be operated without tools, and LED lighting all round increase comfort and safety.
For riders with an A2 driving license, there is an optional A2 throttle kit that can be installed by an authorized dealer. The throttle can be easily removed later once the full license has been obtained.
Maintenance and costs
Triumph attaches great importance to low operating costs. Service intervals are 16,000 km (10,000 miles) and a two-year unlimited mileage warranty provides additional peace of mind. With a starting price from €9,945 (£8,995 / $9,695), the Tiger Sport 660 remains competitive.
Availability and color options
The new Tiger Sport 660 will be available in dealerships from January 2025. It will be offered in the colors Sapphire Black, Roulette Green, Carnival Red and Crystal White.
Conclusion
With the new technologies and its proven three-cylinder engine, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 appears to be ideally positioned to gain a foothold in the mid-range segment. Thanks to the combination of versatility, modern equipment and an attractive price-performance ratio, it could appeal to both beginners and experienced riders.
