evelopment and engineering

The development of the TF 250-X was realized by Triumph’s leading engineers in collaboration with legendary motocross riders such as Ricky Carmichael and Iván Cervantes.  This bike, the result of a combination of innovation and expertise, represents a turning point in Triumph’s design philosophy.  The TF 250-X is not just a new model, but a symbol of Triumph’s ambition and technological know-how in the motocross sector.

Design and aesthetics

The TF 250-X impresses with its sleek yet bold design.  Its lightweight construction and distinctive Triumph Racing yellow and black color scheme make it stand out from the competition.  These design elements emphasize the aggressiveness and sportiness that Triumph has integrated into this motorcycle.

Engine and performance

The TF 250-X is equipped with a state-of-the-art single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a capacity of 249.95 cc.  With a bore of 78 mm and a stroke of 52.3 mm, combined with a high compression ratio of 14.4, this engine delivers impressive power.  The integration of a Dell’Orto EFI system ensures efficient fuel injection, resulting in optimized performance and improved fuel efficiency.

The TF 250-X is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox.

Chassis and handling

The frame of the TF 250-X, constructed from high-strength aluminum, aims to provide an optimal balance between lightness and stability.  This design contributes significantly to the impressive power-to-weight ratio of the TF 250-X, making it one of the leading machines in its class, at least that’s how Triumph describes it, without giving exact figures.  The aluminum swingarm ideally complements the chassis by providing excellent traction and stability in demanding riding conditions.  With a wheelbase of 1492mm and a steering head angle of 27.4º, the TF 250-X is designed for maneuverability and precise handling characteristics, making it particularly agile on the race track.

The tank of the TF 250-X holds 7 liters, which offers a balanced ratio between weight and range.  Overall, the chassis of the TF 250-X is designed to create a seamless symbiosis of performance, agility and efficiency, making it an outstanding choice in the motocross segment, if Triumph is to be believed.

Suspension and brakes

The front of the TF 250-X is fitted with a KYB 48mm coil spring fork, which is adjustable in both compression and rebound and offers 310mm of travel.  At the rear there is a KYB coil suspension with similar adjustment options and a spring travel of 305mm.  This guarantees excellent suspension performance in all conditions.

Triumph has opted for a high-quality Brembo system for the brakes.  The front brakes consist of two 24mm pistons and a 260mm disc, while the rear brakes are fitted with a 26mm piston and a 220mm disc.  This combination ensures outstanding braking performance, which is essential for motocross sport.

Tires and wheels

The TF 250-X is presented on DirtStar 7000 Series aluminum rims, equipped with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 medium-soft tires.  The front tire has the dimension 80/100 – 21, while the rear tire has the size 100/90 – 19.  These carefully selected tire sizes enable optimum traction and handling on a wide variety of surfaces.  The combination of these specific tires with the high-quality aluminium rims ensures that the TF 250-X is ideally equipped in terms of both grip and durability on a wide variety of track conditions.

In addition, the TF 250-X has a final drive ratio of 13/48, which is designed to optimize power transmission from the engine to the rear wheel.

Additional equipment and accessories

Triumph offers an extensive range of accessories for the TF 250-X, including an Akrapovič full titanium exhaust system, XTrig starting devices and Athena LC-GPA launch control modules.  These components allow riders to customize their bikes for maximum performance and individual preferences.

Triumph’s commitment to motocross

With the introduction of the TF 250-X, Triumph is underlining its commitment to motocross sport.  The motorcycle is not only a product of years of development and expertise, but also a sign of Triumph’s commitment to taking a leading role in the motocross sector.
