Triumph is causing a stir with the announcement of a new model to be unveiled on January 9, 2024.  The message “WE’RE REWRITING THE RULES” sounds promising and makes the hearts of fans of a certain model beat faster.

Searching for clues in the teasers

The first image gives little away, apart from the date for the new announcement there is not really anything to see, but the second image is more revealing.  It shows part of an engine and an under-engine exhaust accompanied by the number 660, strongly suggesting that the new bike could get the familiar 660cc three-cylinder engine from the Trident 660.  The third image, which shows a motorcycle riding over a bridge, gives a sporty impression, but leaves details in the dark.

The return of a legend?

These indications could confirm the rumors about a reissue of the Daytona, which may also be based on the Trident platform.  It is said to have been spotted on test rides back in August.

However, if it is based on the Trident 660 and also uses the same engine, the expected output is likely to be around 81 hp (approx. 60 kW), which would be a far cry from the 130 hp of the Daytona 765’s 765cc engine. The question remains as to whether Triumph has something up its sleeve to exceed expectations.

Conclusion

Triumph’s upcoming motorcycle launch is causing speculation.  The indications point to a new version of the Daytona, based on the Trident 660. With moderate performance figures and a sporty focus, it could be an exciting addition to the Triumph portfolio.  The unveiling on January 9, 2024 is eagerly awaited.
