Background and engine performance of the GSX-S1000
First presented in 2021, the GSX-S1000 combines a sporty streetfighter design with a powerful four-cylinder in-line engine. From a displacement of 999 cubic centimetres, the unit generates an output of 152 hp (112 kW), giving the motorcycle a sporty dynamic. The machine relies on an engine derived from the GSX-R1000 super sports bike with optimized cam profiles, which offer strong torque even at low and medium engine speeds.
A precise injection system with 10-hole nozzles, which is designed to support efficient combustion, contributes to performance optimization. A combination of a high-flow airbox and a specially tuned 4-2-1 exhaust system rounds off the engine concept and is intended to give the machine a balanced and powerful characteristic.
Stability and riding comfort through lightweight construction
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 uses a lightweight, high-strength double-loop aluminum frame construction that connects the steering head to the swingarm bearing in a straight line. This design is intended to ensure both smooth running at high speeds and playful handling. The chassis is complemented by a carefully tuned suspension and cast aluminum wheels in a six-spoke design. These are fitted with Dunlop Roadsport 2 radial tires, which were specially developed for the model and are designed to provide grip in bends and on straight stretches.
Powerful brakes and additional safety systems
The braking system of the GSX-S1000 has been tuned for sporty riding. At the front wheel, 310 mm twin discs are used, which are combined with Brembo monobloc brake callipers. The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) prevents abrupt stamping of the rear wheel when downshifting and thus ensures controlled handling. In extreme situations, the ABS intervenes to increase riding safety.
Comfort and technology update in 2025
In model year 2025, the Suzuki GSX-S1000 will feature a new 5-inch TFT LCD color multifunction display. This display has already been successfully used on the GSX-S1000GX and GSX-S1000GT models and, according to the manufacturer, offers good legibility even in direct sunlight or darkness. This allows the rider to keep an eye on all important information, which contributes to greater comfort and safety.
Another change concerns the aluminum handlebars: Compared to the previous model, these butted handlebars are 23 millimetres wider and slightly cranked upwards, allowing for a more ergonomic riding position. This should improve comfort, especially on longer rides, and support a more active riding position.
Environmentally friendly and powerful thanks to Euro 5+
The engine of the GSX-S1000 has been further optimized for the new model year in order to meet the requirements of the Euro 5+ emissions standard. This means an improved environmental balance without compromising the performance characteristics. Suzuki promises a combination of dynamic performance and lower emissions.
Color variants and pricing
Visually, the GSX-S1000 is available in three new paint finishes: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Mat Sword Silver and Glass Sparkle Black. The recommended retail price for the new GSX-S1000 is 13,400.00 euros (approx. 14,200 USD), plus ancillary costs. Suzuki dealers are now offering the revised model.
