Racing driver Ben Godfrey died after an accident at a Track Day on Donington Park on June 21, 2020.
Godfrey drove in the BSB National Superstock 1000 class in 2019 and in the FIM World Endurance Championship at the 24-hour Bol d’Or or the 8-hour race in Malaysia.
At the track day he wanted to prepare for the start of the BSB season, which was postponed to August 7 due to the corona pandemic.
According to the Trackday organizer, there was a contact between Godfrey and another driver at Redgate (curve 1). Both drivers crashed. Godfrey was injured so badly that despite immediate medical help, he succumbed to his injuries.
The other driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Ben Godfrey was only 25 years old.
