Continuous evolution of a classic
Ducati’s Scrambler 800 models, which have been influencing the post-heritage motorcycle world for nearly a decade, are getting an update for 2023. To that end, SC-Project, a company specializing in exhaust systems, has developed several slip-on mufflers for the latest model line. The three models are designated CR-T, S1 and Rally-S.
Manufacturing standards and regulatory compliance
All new SC-Project mufflers for the 2023 Scrambler are fully manufactured in Italy. After a series of tests, the new models promise weight reduction and changes in power and torque characteristics. In addition, all mufflers are certified according to Euro 5 standards.
CR-T: A model with a racing background
The CR-T rear silencer was originally designed for the Moto GP and Moto2 racing classes. Available in a titanium and carbon fiber version, it reduces motorcycle weight by more than one kilogram (about 2.2 pounds). The muffler features a large, round outlet and titanium grille.
S1: Aesthetic variations
The S1 muffler is offered in a tapered shape with a carbon fiber end cap. It is available in two versions: one made of titanium and one with a heat-resistant matte black ceramic coating.
Rally-S: A model for off-road enthusiasts
The Rally-S has a titanium housing and focuses on off-road aspects. Its large, round exhaust provides a deeper sound. The weight of the Rally-S is about half a kilogram (about 1.1 pounds) less than the standard exhaust.
Installation and prices
The muffler is installed without complicated adjustments to the engine control unit (ECU). Each model comes with a carbon fiber heat shield. In Germany and Austria, the CR-T is available for € 520. In Switzerland, it costs CHF 700. The S1 is available for € 560 or € 680 in Germany and Austria and for CHF 760 or CHF 920 in Switzerland, depending on the version. The Rally-S costs € 420 in Germany and Austria and CHF 570 in Switzerland.
