At the first presentation, the organizer of the Dakar presented the determined route to the participants. The rally will again be held in Saudi Arabia.
The 44th Dakar is planned from January 02 to 14. Start of the rally, as well as prologue and technical inspection, are planned in Ha`il. During twelve stages the route will lead over more sand and dunes than before. There will also be more focus on navigation.
Two stages will lead exclusively through dunes. One will be a marathon stage. 80 percent of the planned route is to be completely new Dakar territory. Detailed route information will be provided in November.
Electronic roadbooks will be used for the first time at the Dakar.
