Models and customization options
Currently, Norton offers the customization program for three models: the Norton Commando 961, V4SV and V4CR. The tank and rear section of the Commando 961 can be customized. On the V4SV and V4CR models, it is possible to customize the colors and paintwork of the fairing and other panels according to your own preferences. Once a customer signs up for the program, a consultant from the factory contacts them and works with them to develop a unique design for the motorcycle. Once the design has been finalized, the customer receives a rendering for approval. Depending on the complexity of the design, the process from application to completion and delivery can take between four and six months. During this time, the customer is regularly informed about the progress.
Demonstration of the program
To demonstrate the possibilities of the “One of One” program, Norton has introduced the V4SV White Charger model. This model is a replica of the Norton RCW588 race bike ridden by Steve Hislop at the 1992 Isle of Man TT.
Personalization and individuality
The “One of One” program offers motorcycle owners the opportunity to make their vehicle a unique expression of themselves and their ideas. Norton sees this program as a platform for those who want to make their motorcycle an expression of their personality. By working closely with customers, Norton ensures that each motorcycle becomes a unique masterpiece.
Timing and presentation
After a customer registers their interest in the service, a Norton consultant will discuss initial ideas before a final design meeting takes place. The design renderings are presented to the client for approval before a deposit is paid to secure the build. Depending on the specification and complexity of the build, the timescale from initial consultation to completion and delivery is typically between four and six months. During this time, the customer will receive regular updates, including videos and face-to-face meetings if required.
The first bike to go through the “One of One” customization program is the stunning “White Charger” replica. This model, which will be on display at the Bike Shed Moto Show and Victory Café on the Isle of Man before going to the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, is a recreation of the Rotary Norton RCW588 race bike that helped Steve Hislop win the 1992 Senior Isle of Man TT.
