After the MT-09 got a new look, the modified and Euro 5 compliant MT-07 was introduced.
New look
The Yamaha MT-07 for 2021, like its big sister, features a modified front, with a new and dominant Y-shaped lighting arrangement. The central LED headlamp is framed at the sides by two LED position lights. The indicators also use LED technology.
The covers for the 14-litre tank have been redesigned and fitted with winglets on the sides to direct the air flow towards the air intakes.
New engine with slightly less power
The 690cc two-cylinder CP2 engine has been revised. The fuel injection has been optimised and the air intake duct has been modified. The engine is designed to provide more smooth power and torque delivery. It delivers 54 kW or 73.4 PS at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 67 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This is one PS less than the previous model, which is probably due to the adaptation to Euro5.
Also new is a 2-in-1 exhaust system, which has been given a silver-coloured exhaust pipe and new covers. The ECU has also been revised.
Other changes
A new high performance brake was mounted on the front. The diameter of the brake discs has increased from 282 to 298mm. This should improve the brake performance and control without having to gain weight.
The LCD cockpit has been modified and is now similar to that of the Tracer 700. The displays are quite large and are shown in bright figures on a dark background. One can operate the display with a new switch on the handlebars.
Colour variants and price
The 2021 model is available in new colours and graphics. Black clutch and brake levers are to support a valuable appearance. The colour variations Storm Fluo, Icon Blue and Tech Black are available.
Delivery to European dealers is planned for January 2021. The recommended retail price is 7,374 Euro.
