Currently there are considerations to let take place still 2021 a new Road Racing Event on the Isle of Wight. However, this is not the “Diamond Races”, which, as already reported, have been postponed to 2022.
The event is currently still in an early planning phase, so there is currently no official announcement. In the run-up to the event, there are still many discussions to be held before there is anything really solid.
The event is scheduled to take place between October 20 and 24. 10 to 15 participants should start together at the race, so it should not be a pure time race, like the Diamond Races would be.
Not everyone on the island is enthusiastic about the race and opposition is already forming. Residents have concerns about noise, safety, pollution, and “copycat riders” who might ride the public course at breakneck speeds before or after the event.
