The global spread of the corona virus also affects the races of MotoGP. At least two races had to be postponed or even canceled.
MotoGP race canceled
The start of the season in Qatar is affected. The MotoGP race was canceled, only the Moto 2 & 3 races will take place. This is due to travel restrictions that were introduced in Qatar and affect travelers from Italy. All passengers flying directly from Italy to Doha or who have been in Italy in the past two weeks must remain in quarantine for at least 14 days.
It is therefore not possible to hold the races properly. Since the teams of Moto2 and Moto3 arrived before the travel restriction because of tests on the Losail International Circuit, these races can take place. The race weekend schedule will be revised accordingly.
Grand Prix postponed
The Thailand Grand Prix was postponed due to the corona virus. The Thai government is putting a stop to this because major events are no longer allowed there. The races in Buriram on March 22nd will not take place. It is currently being checked whether the races can be made up for later.
