Entry into the naked segment
2024 marks a milestone in KTM’s history with the celebration of 30 years of the Duke. This year, KTM presents two impressive models: the KTM 1390 Super Duke R and its high-tech version, the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo. Both models are set to represent a new era of dominance in the naked segment and come with a clear message to the competition: a new BEAST is on the prowl.
Technical specifications and performance
The new models impress with a displacement of 1,350 cc, an impressive 190 hp at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm. These figures alone illustrate the raw power and agility that characterize the KTM 1390 Super Duke R and Evo. Their ability to effectively transfer power to the asphalt makes them true powerhouses.
Design and aesthetics
In terms of design, both models have undergone an aposematic evolution that sends a clear warning to all challengers. Visually, the completely new LED headlight units stand out, complemented by new tank spoilers and additional winglets. The reduction of the boom cover and the removal of the brake light contribute to a sharper and cleaner look. A lower profile and a more compact chassis give the motorcycles a more muscular and aggressive appearance.
Improvements in detail
The air intakes and air filter box have been redesigned and the fuel tank now holds 17.5 liters – 1.5 liters more than before, which increases the range to around 300 km. The fairing components have been optimized to save weight, while the new tank spoiler and winglets increase downforce. The lightweight and smart headlight design is not only visually impressive, but also contributes to weight reduction.
Safety features and lighting
The KTM 1390 Super Duke R and Evo are equipped with a Coming Home light function as standard, which keeps the headlight on for a short time after the ignition is switched off. This improves visibility and increases safety when parking the motorcycle.
Engine and chassis
The revised LC8 engine with a bore of 110 mm has a displacement of 1,350 cm³. The cylinder heads are equipped with a new camshaft phaser, which increases performance across the entire rev range. The new MICHELIN Power GP tires and the fully adjustable WP APEX shock absorber add to the performance. The KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo takes the suspension experience to a new level with the latest generation of WP Semi-Active Technology.
Riding modes and optional equipment
Both models offer advanced PERFORMANCE and TRACK riding modes, a lap timer, telemetry statistics and optional engine brake control. The KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo also has an updated SUSPENSION PRO module.
Anniversary edition and personalization
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Duke series, both models are available in a special color scheme reminiscent of the KTM 990 Super Duke from 2005. KTM also offers an extensive range of KTM PowerParts and KTM PowerWear to customize the bike and rider.
