Yamaha is quite successful with leaning multi-wheelers like Tricity 125 to Niken. Kawasaki now seems to want to penetrate this market too. At least new patents have emerged that show a three-wheel motorcycle.
Kawasaki introduced the Concept J in 2013, but the patent doesn’t really have anything to do with the futuristic tricycle.
According to the patent, the front is damped by a single spring-damper unit. The handlebar guidance is transmitted to the front via push rods. It looks like the wheelbase is a bit longer than that of the competition and the seating position could also be a bit sportier – if not as extreme as with the Concept J.
It will be interesting to see what Kawasaki is working on and whether it will even find its way into the sales rooms.
