The Lacama 2.0 electric motorcycle from Italian manufacturer Italian Volt, which was presented as a concept back in 2017, is now to be unveiled in its production-ready version at the EICMA international motorcycle show in November 2023.  Since the first presentation, the model has been revised and further developed several times.

The Lacama 2.0 model: origins and design

The performance-oriented electric motorcycle was developed in the so-called Motor Valley in Italy, where the subsidiary of the Tazzari Group, Italian Volt, is based.  The Lacama 2.0’s target group is motorcyclists who value individual details and meticulous workmanship.  Therefore, in addition to performance, the motorcycle offers a wide range of customization options.

Frame and individual design of the Lacama 2.0

The foundation of the Lacama 2.0 is a single-cast, ultra-lightweight aluminum frame.  Customers have the option to choose from 10 different design options for the front end and customize the saddle as either a one or two-person option.  In addition, 22 color options are available for the frame and swingarm.  The saddles, equipped with memory gel technology, are available in 20 colors.  Each Lacama 2.0 is numbered and carries a badge on both sides of the frame, as well as laser engraving on the rear license plate holder.

Technical features: Drive and battery system

A key technical feature of the Lacama 2.0 is the innovative fluid battery system from Tazzari EV Technology.  Here, the battery cells are directly immersed in a dielectric fluid to ensure effective conditioning for cooling, heating and fireproof insulation.  Furthermore, the motorcycle features a PMSM Axial Flux engine that produces 150 hp (148.18 hp, 111.85 kW) and has a torque of 230 Nm (169.64 ft lb).  The engine weighs a total of 11 kg (24.25 lb).  Power is transmitted via a high-strength carbon-fiber timing belt.

Energy-saving system and drive modes

The Lacama 2.0’s energy-saving system aims to optimize range and overall performance.  To complement this, riders have four different riding modes – Rain, Eco, Sport and Rocket – which can be adjusted to suit riding conditions and preferences.
