Indian Motorcycles is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the unveiling of the new Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse and Super Chief Limited.
Basic structure of the Chief series
Common to the Chief range is the tubular steel frame, which provides a sloping line. At the front, a classic 46mm telescopic fork dampens, while at the rear, two outboard shocks with adjustable preload. Ready to ride, the Chief series weighs in at around 300 kg. LED technology is used for the lighting all around. A daytime running light is integrated in the round front headlight. Two turn signals with integrated taillights are mounted at the rear.
Propulsion is provided by the Thunderstroke 116 . The 1890cc V-twin delivers a maximum torque of 162 Nm.
Otherwise, the Chief range is equipped with a 15-liter fuel tank, shortened rear fender, keyless ignition, cruise control and three riding modes. Settings can be changed via the Ride Command system using a touchscreen, or alternatively via buttons on the handlebars. The smartphone can also be paired via Bluetooth.
The seat height is 662mm.
Chief Bobber Dark Horse
The Chief Bobber Dark Horse stands on beefy tires mounted on 16-inch wire wheels. The fork is protected with covers and the headlight also got a small fairing. The single seat configuration, forward-mounted footpegs and Mini Ape handlebars result in an upright riding position.
It is offered in the colors Black Smoke, Titanium Smoke or Sagebrusch Smoke.
Chief Dark Horse
The Chief Bobber Dark Horse stands on beefy tires mounted on 16-inch wire wheels. The fork is protected with covers and the headlight also got a small fairing. The single seat configuration, forward-mounted footpegs and Mini Ape handlebars result in an upright riding position.
It is offered in the colors Black Smoke, Titanium Smoke or Sagebrusch Smoke.
Super Chief Limited
The Super Chief Limited is the touring version of the Chief range. Accordingly, it is equipped with a touring seat including pillion seat. Luggage can be stowed in the stylishly matching leather saddlebags. An adjustable windshield with quick-release fastener provides comfortable wind protection. Also it stands on 16 inch wire wheels, has the fork covers and the disguised headlight. Steering is done with a traditional cruiser handlebar. The exhaust was chromed.
Here you can choose between Black Metallic, Blue Slate Metallic or Maroon Metallic.
Indian Motorcycles also offers over 70 accessories for the three models.
