Spy photos reveal that the new Svartpilen will get a two-cylinder engine.
The engine has already been spotted in the upcoming Norden 901 model, however, it is largely covered by the fairing there. In the nude 901 Svartpilen you can see more of it and it looks as if the unit came from the parent company KTM.
The engine looks like the copy from the new KTM 890 Duke R. There the parallel twin delivers 89 kW (121 hp) and 99 Nm. Compared to the 701 Svartpilen, which has 75 HP and 72 Nm, one can expect significantly more power.
No further data are known yet. A lot will still happen optically. One can assume that Husqvarna camouflaged the 901 Svartpilen especially so that it would not be recognized as such.
