Motorsport enthusiasts and collectors now have the opportunity to acquire a true icon of superbike racing: a 1995 Honda RVF750 V&M RC45 is for sale for £64,999 (approx. €76,000 / $83,000). This extraordinary motorcycle, which was ridden by some of the most famous racers of its time, is far more than an ordinary RVF750 – it is a former V&M Racing factory racing machine that caused a sensation on numerous racetracks and road courses between 1995 and 1997.

From the World Superbike Championship to the Isle of Man TT

The Honda RC45 was developed as a homologation model for the World Superbike Championship and was a direct development of the legendary RC30. This special machine was first used in 1995 by Steve Ward in the famous Castrol colors. It later moved to the V&M Racing team, which was led by Jack Valentine and Steve Mellor.

During its active racing career, this RC45 achieved several significant successes:

  • 1995: Terry Rymer won the race at Brands Hatch with her.
  • 1996: Iain Duffus achieved a strong fourth place at the Isle of Man TT and the North West 200.
  • 1997: Michael Rutter rode the bike to second place in the Senior TT and first and second place in the NW200.
  • Last victory: In 1997, the bike in the classic V&M Racing colors won its last race in a rainy round at Brands Hatch.

Collector’s item in excellent condition

After the end of its active racing career, the Honda RVF750 RC45 spent 15 years in a private collection and was always kept in fully functional condition. It was recently presented once again at a parade at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The bike is being sold with extensive documentation, including:

Detailed workshop records with handwritten notes on maintenance and overhauls
Race reports and magazine articles documenting its eventful history
An original paddock stand

A unique offer for racing fans

With an impressive history on road and circuit circuits, this Honda RVF750 RC45 is not only a rare collector’s item, but also a genuine piece of motorsport history. If you want to secure this exclusive motorcycle, you can currently find it at The Bike Specialists in Sheffield.
