The Harley-Davidson X440 takes cues from the classic XR roadsters. With its flat handlebars, neutral ergonomics and rugged looks, it promises a fresh riding experience. The X440 maintains a neutral stance, deviating from the typical forward footpegs and retracted handlebars of cruisers. The centered footpegs and flat handlebars promote an upright and possibly slightly sporty riding position.
Details and construction
The X440 features circular design elements in the headlights, turn signals and mirrors. The oval tail light adds a unique touch and emerges from the rear fender. The headlight feature is noteworthy, with an LED daytime running light bar that stretches across the center, while the turn signals boast intricate Harley logos.
Underneath its bodywork, the X440 features a tubular frame with a single downtube design. It features an upside-down fork and preloadable twin-shock absorbers. Moreover, the motorcycle is equipped with a single disc brake at both ends, accompanied by a standard dual-channel ABS.
Engine and Performance
At the heart of the X440 sits a single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine with a displacement of 440cc. Exact performance numbers won’t be revealed until the bike’s official launch in July. The engine is clearly a single-cylinder unit, thanks to the single exhaust manifold. There are also a lot of cooling fins that serve a functional purpose rather than a stylistic one, so we can assume that it is air and oil cooling.
Soon to be unveiled and available
The official launch of the Harley-Davidson X440 is scheduled for July 4, 2023 and will take place in India. On this occasion, more details about the motorcycle and its performance will be revealed. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the price range of Rs. 2.50 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh (approximately 2,800 to 3,400 euros, 3,200 to 3,900 USD). It is currently unclear if and when the motorcycle will be released in other markets, such as Europe and America.
