The CVO Road Glide is a remarkable visual redesign of the Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring platform.
A new definition of the Grand American Touring bike.
The CVO Road Glide is designed to enhance all elements that make up the riding experience of a Grand American Touring bike and set new standards. Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson, is confident in the advances in performance, technology and style.
Impressive design of the CVO Road Glide
The new model features a unique design that builds on the familiar shapes of previous Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring bikes. It features fairings with integrated vents and signature LED light sources including integrated LED turn signals. Additionally, there is a slimmer front fender, redesigned 6-gallon fuel tank (22.7 L) and redesigned side cases. The Combo Cast Laced Wheels make a strong statement with their contrasting black cast alloy wheels and wire spokes. The model is offered in two paint and finish options.
Premium performance and comfort
The new, 121 cui (1,977 cc) Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 V-twin sets a new standard for displacement and torque among Harley-Davidson touring bikes. The machine’s curb weight has been reduced by 15 kg (33.07 pounds) compared to the previous model (excluding operating fluids). Showa suspension components and more than 40 percent increased suspension travel ensure superior handling and significantly improved ride comfort. Top-quality Brembo brake components ensure first-class deceleration and precise braking feel.
For the first time in the model family, the CVO Road Glide offers selectable riding modes – Road, Sport and Rain – that electronically control a specific combination of power delivery and engine braking torque, as well as the intensity of cornering anti-lock braking system (C-ABS) and cornering traction control system (C-TCS) intervention.
Aerodynamic and thermal comfort is improved by the new fairings with streamlined windshields and adjustable air ducts. Wind tunnel tests confirm a reduction in turbulence in the rider’s helmet area of around 60 percent compared to the corresponding 2022 models. In addition, the new engine cooling system provides optimized thermal comfort for the rider compared to previous CVO models.
Advanced infotainment with Skyline OS
The CVO Road Glide sets new standards in infotainment. It features all-new technology based on the Skyline OS, which is also new. A 12.3-inch TFT color touchscreen replaces all analog instruments and most mechanical switches. The premium display is compatible with Apple and Android devices and offers three viewing options. WLAN connectivity allows wireless connection to a driver’s device, and a Bluetooth receiver system for wireless headsets is integrated. The model is also equipped with enlarged storage compartments for mobile devices that have a USB-C port. For the perfect sound, the high-quality Harley-Davidson audio system powered by Rockford Fosgate comes in Stage II configuration with four speakers and a powerful power amplifier that develops 500 watts (RMS).
Official presentation and availability
The CVO Road Glide will be unveiled at the Harley-Davidson 120th Anniversary Festival, June 22-25 in Budapest, and at the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, July 13-16, 2023 in Milwaukee, USA. Both models are expected to be available starting in August.
Conclusion
Harley-Davidson’s new CVO Road Glide is expected to be not only a feast for the eyes of any motorcycle fan, but also a technical masterpiece. With its improved design, advanced technology and outstanding performance, it is expected to set new standards in the world of Grand American Touring Bikes. The motorcycle world can be excited about this new premium model from Harley-Davidson.
