The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 was developed as a direct offshoot of the Panigale V4 and combines advanced technology with high-performance characteristics.  The naked bike combines the performance of a superbike with an upright, comfortable riding position and is aimed at riders who want to ride both on the road and on the race track.

Engine: Desmosedici Stradale for the road

The Desmosedici Stradale engine in the Streetfighter V4 comes directly from the Panigale V4 and offers an output of 214 hp (157.4 kW) at 13,500 rpm and a torque of 122 Nm at 11,250 rpm.  The 90° V4 engine with desmodromic control, counter-rotating crankshaft and twin-pulse firing order is strongly based on Ducati’s MotoGP technologies.

Thanks to the variable intake funnels, which vary between 25 mm and 80 mm in length as required, the engine’s performance and rideability have been optimized.  With an optional Akrapovič racing exhaust system, the power output can be increased to 226 hp (166.2 kW), which makes the machine particularly interesting for racetrack use.

Chassis and aerodynamics: balance of agility and stability

The chassis of the Streetfighter V4 is based on that of the Panigale V4, although Ducati has gone one step further here.  The new “front frame” construction is lighter and stiffer, which improves stability at high speeds and at the same time makes handling more precise.  The chassis is complemented by a new hollow symmetrical swingarm, which is intended to optimize traction and the riding feel when accelerating.

The biplane winglets, which are characteristic of the Streetfighter series, have been revised.  They provide an additional 17 kg of downforce at a speed of 270 km/h and contribute to stability without compromising agility.

Electronics: Support from the latest assistance systems

The Streetfighter V4 has extensive electronics based on the latest generation of the Panigale.  These include, among other things:

  • – Ducati Traction Control (DTC)
  • – Ducati Slide Control (DSC)
  • – Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC)
  • – Ducati Power Launch (DPL)
  • – Engine Brake Control (EBC)

All these systems work with a 6D inertial measurement unit (IMU) to support the rider in various riding situations.  The Streetfighter is also equipped with the Race eCBS system, which is designed to ensure greater stability and safety both on the road and on the race track.

Design: function meets style

The Streetfighter V4 remains true to Ducati’s design language.  The full LED headlight underlines the aggressive appearance, while the narrow design of the tank and the redesign of the rear are intended to improve ergonomics.  The 16-liter tank capacity combines a slim profile with a sporty look.

The exhaust system below the engine not only contributes to weight distribution, but also allows a clear view of the swingarm, which stands out thanks to its lightweight design.

Ergonomics: Improved comfort for everyday use and the race track

Compared to the previous model, the seating position has been revised to improve both control and comfort.  The handlebars are 10 mm closer to the rider and the footrests are slightly lower and set further inwards.  These adjustments are intended to enable a more comfortable position without compromising the sportiness of the machine.  In addition, new ventilation elements direct the engine heat away from the rider’s legs.

Variants and availability

The Ducati Streetfighter V4 is available in two versions:

  • Streetfighter V4
    • Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) and Sachs shock absorber
    • Curb weight: 191 kg
  • Streetfighter V4 S
    • Öhlins suspension with Smart EC 3.0 technology
    • Forged aluminum wheels and lithium battery
    • Curb weight: 189 kg

Both models are available in Ducati Red and are equipped with a new 6.9-inch TFT display in 8:3 format, which switches between road and race track mode depending on the intended use.

Conclusion: A powerful naked bike for versatile use

The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 offers state-of-the-art technology paired with a design that emphasizes both functionality and aesthetics.  With a combination of racetrack and road capability, it is an interesting choice for riders who appreciate both.
