With the new Streetfighter V2, Ducati is expanding its model range in the sporty naked bike segment and offering a street machine that uses the technical foundations of the Panigale V2, but with an aggressive, undisguised look.  The “Fight Formula” concept, which Ducati has been pursuing since the first Streetfighter V4, is based on a lightweight design, high performance and an exciting riding experience - on the road and on the race track.

Powerful performance and lightweight construction

The Ducati Streetfighter V2 is powered by a new 890cc 90° V2 engine that delivers 120 hp (88 kW) at 10,750 rpm.  With a torque of 93.3 Nm at 8,250 rpm, strong performance is available even at low engine speeds, making the bike dynamic and at the same time suitable for everyday use.  For use on the racetrack, a special racing exhaust can be fitted, which increases the power output to 126 hp (92 kW) and at the same time reduces the overall weight by 4.5 kg.

With a weight of just 175 kg (approx. 386 lbs), the Streetfighter V2 is Ducati’s lightest naked bike to date.  Thanks to a monocoque chassis and the use of the engine as a load-bearing element, the weight has been reduced by 18 kg compared to its predecessor.  This ensures agile yet stable handling even at high speeds.

Design in typical Streetfighter style

Visually, the Streetfighter V2 has an undisguised look that emphasizes the sporty basis of the Panigale V2.  The masses are concentrated on the front section, giving the bike a dynamic, athletic appearance.  The sharply drawn full LED headlights and the Daytime Running Light (DRL) ensure a striking front view.

The rear is reminiscent of the Desmosedici models from the MotoGP with its clear lines and the two-part LED tail light.  The exhaust ends with silencers under the seat and underlines the sporty origins of the machine.  The new Y-shaped six-spoke alloy rims, inspired by the legendary Marchesini rims, complete the modern design in classic Ducati red.

Ergonomics and comfort for road and track

The Streetfighter V2 has been designed to be comfortable to ride both on winding mountain roads and in city traffic.  The rider can control the bike via a variably designed aluminum handlebar, which is mounted on risers to enable a relaxed riding position.  The footrests are designed to provide good support and are positioned in such a way that they support both sporty riding and longer tours.

With a seat height of 838 mm and an ergonomically shaped tank, the Streetfighter V2 is designed to provide the rider with optimum support during dynamic riding maneuvers without being too physically demanding.  The pillion footrests are removable, which quickly converts the Streetfighter into a single-seater for sporty use.

New V2 engine

The 90° V2 engine of the Streetfighter V2 is the lightest two-cylinder ever produced by Ducati.  It weighs just 54.5 kg and is characterized by Euro5+ conformity and variable valve timing for the intake valves.  The engine characteristics offer a powerful yet controllable power delivery that pays off both on the road and on the racetrack.  Thanks to the high torque, power is available even at low engine speeds, which guarantees immediate throttle response.

An A2-compliant version with reduced power output of 35 kW (47 hp) is also available for younger riders.

Advanced electronics package

The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a comprehensive electronics package similar to that of the Panigale V4.  This includes a six-dimensional Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU), which measures lean angle and acceleration and thus supports functions such as ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.  These systems can be individually adjusted via the four riding modes (Race, Sport, Road and Wet) to optimally tune the bike for different riding conditions.

A 5-inch TFT display shows all important information and offers three modes: Road, Road Pro and Track.  The rider can switch modes to adapt the information displayed to the intended use, while the “Petal” joystick on the handlebars enables intuitive operation.

Chassis and chassis variants

Ducati offers the Streetfighter V2 in two versions, which differ primarily in terms of suspension: The standard version is equipped with a Marzocchi fork and a Kayaba shock absorber, both fully adjustable.  The V2 S version, on the other hand, offers a high-quality Öhlins NIX30 fork and an Öhlins shock absorber, also fully adjustable, as well as a lighter lithium-ion battery.

Both versions have a Sachs damper to improve riding stability at high speeds.  The suspension can be individually adjusted to ensure an optimum balance between comfort and sporty precision.

Brakes and tires

The braking system consists of two 320 mm brake discs at the front with M50 monobloc brake callipers from Brembo, which are designed to deliver precise braking power even under heavy loads.  A 245 mm disc is fitted at the rear.  Both versions of the Streetfighter V2 are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires in sizes 120/70 at the front and 190/55 at the rear, which ensure optimum grip and stable handling.

Availability and prices

The Streetfighter V2 and Streetfighter V2 S will be available from Ducati dealers from the end of March 2025.  Both models will appear in the classic Ducati red livery.  While the standard version is offered in a two-seater configuration, the V2 S comes in a one-seater version with an optional passenger kit.  Prices for the European and US markets are yet to be announced by Ducati.

Conclusion: The Ducati Streetfighter V2 combines the technical know-how of the Panigale series with an aggressive naked bike look and offers a sporty riding experience both on the road and on the race track.  Thanks to modern electronics and optimized ergonomics, it appeals to riders who are looking for a versatile, powerful machine that is equally impressive on different routes and in everyday use.
