Shortly before the start of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, Ducati Corse and Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia have confirmed their successful partnership with a contract extension for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.  This agreement ensures the continuation of the collaboration between the two-time MotoGP World Champion and the renowned manufacturer from Borgo Panigale.

An Italian combination of success

Francesco Bagnaia, born in Turin in 1997 and resident in Pesaro, joined Ducati in 2019 via the Pramac Racing Team.  With the current contract extension, he consolidates his position in Ducati’s history and will be one of the few riders to remain with the manufacturer for eight years.  Bagnaia, who already made a name for himself in 2020 with a podium finish at his home race in Misano Adriatico, was promoted to the factory team in 2021.  Despite a narrow defeat in the battle for the world title in the first year, he managed to be crowned world champion in 2022 and 2023, bringing Ducati its second rider world title after Casey Stoner’s success in 2007.

Bagnaia: “Riding with Ducati is a dream”

“I’m over the moon to continue riding with the team of my dreams!  Wearing these colors is an honor for me.  Together with Ducati, my team and everyone at Ducati Corse, we have achieved incredible things.  Over the next three years, including 2024, we will continue to do our best to achieve as much success as possible.  I am over the moon and ready to start the first race of the year in Qatar,” said Francesco Bagnaia.

Ducati executives on the contract extension

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, emphasizes Bagnaia’s perfect fit with the Ducati team and highlights his values of style, elegance and performance.  Luigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, is also pleased about the continuation of the collaboration and emphasizes the harmonious relationship between Bagnaia, the bike and the team.

Bagnaia: A look back at impressive statistics

Since entering MotoGP with Ducati in 2019, Bagnaia has achieved 18 wins, 35 podiums and 18 pole positions in 86 Grand Prix starts, underlining his outstanding performances and contribution to Ducati’s success.

Francesco Bagnaia and the Ducati Lenovo Team will line up at the inaugural Grand Prix of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar from March 8-10, ready to continue their success story.
