BADWINNERS Charles Leclerc Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 1

Charles Leclerc parts ways with his custom Husqvarna Vitpilen 701

Monegasque Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc is auctioning off his custom-built Husqvarna Vitpilen 701. The motorcycle is called the “701 Serie Apex 2.0” and was built by Parisian custom shop Bad Winners. The workshop offered the special models in four stages (Stage 1 to Stage 4), with the Stage 4 version having the most extensive equipment and the highest price.

High-quality equipment and modifications

The Stage 4 version cost €20,990 (approx. US$22,950) when new. The current highest bid is around €6,500 (approx. US$7,100), with the auction still ongoing. If the final price remains below €10,000 (approx. US$10,920), the buyer could get an elaborately refined motorcycle at a relatively low price.

The modifications include a modified frame, complete carbon body parts, an exhaust system with a decat system, and Power Commander V for fine-tuning. In addition, there is a lightweight lithium-ion battery, an SC Project rear silencer, and DYMAG carbon wheels.

Technical basis and condition

The motorcycle is based on the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701, whose single-cylinder four-stroke engine delivers 55 kW (75 hp). According to the information provided, the vehicle has been driven very little since it was delivered to Leclerc in January 2020. The mileage is around 3,000 km (1,864 miles), with most of this mileage having been accumulated before the conversion.

A rare combination of motorsport and two wheels

Formula 1 drivers and motorcycles have a long shared history. Leclerc joins the list of prominent names who appreciate the appeal of two wheels. The sale of this machine combines motorsport celebrity with a high-quality custom bike – an offer that is likely to appeal to collectors in particular.
