CFMoto 750SR-R: Four-cylinder sports bike officially unveiled

CFMoto has unveiled its first four-cylinder sports motorcycle, the 750SR-R. The model, also known as the 750SR-S or 750SS in other markets, was first officially unveiled in China. A global market launch, for example at this year's EICMA, is still pending. An exact date for Europe is still uncertain.

New technology and design features

The 750SR-R marks a turning point in the Chinese manufacturer’s model history. Until now, CFMoto has relied in part on engines from collaborations with other brands, such as KTM. The new 750SR-R, on the other hand, features an independently developed inline four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 749 cm³.

The motorcycle has a number of new and unusual features. One of the most striking features is an optional rear wheel cover, which, according to the manufacturer, is designed to improve aerodynamics. Official photos show the model with and without this cover. The previously much-discussed seat belt or passenger restraint strap is no longer visible in the current images.

The design stands out with its striking appearance and four exhaust pipes under the seat. In addition to its appearance, this detail is likely to spark discussion about heat build-up in summer. The combination of sporty lines and technical details is intended to give the model a unique position in the market.

Technical data and equipment

According to the manufacturer, the four-cylinder engine delivers 110 hp (81 kW) at 10,250 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 80 Nm at 9,000 rpm. These figures correspond to approximately 110 hp (81 kW) and 80 Nm (59 lb-ft). For comparison: A Triumph Tiger Sport 800 offers 113 hp (83 kW) and 83 Nm (61 lb-ft).

The chassis uses KYB components at the front and rear. Brembo systems are used for the brakes. A six-axis IMU is also on board, enabling both cornering ABS and cornering traction control. There are also two riding modes to adapt the riding experience to different conditions.

Other features include cornering lights, a keyless start system (using a smartphone as the key), emergency brake lights, tire pressure monitoring, and numerous connectivity functions. These include the integration of an Insta360 camera and over-the-air updates for the vehicle software.

The standard Quickshifter only allows upshifting without the clutch. No information on the curb weight is currently available.

Market launch and price

The launch outside China is still open. Due to the recent change in the distribution structure – following the termination of distribution by KTM, Quadzilla was named as the new importer in the UK – it remains unclear when and at what price the 750SR-R will be offered in Europe. The manufacturer is likely to offer the model at a competitive price, but no specific figures have been mentioned yet.

Conclusion

With the 750SR-R, CFMoto is venturing into the inline four-cylinder sports motorcycle segment for the first time, relying on a unique concept. The combination of performance, modern features, and distinctive design makes the model an interesting new release – at least on the Chinese market. Further details on international availability and price remain to be seen.
