A legend of motorsport
Stoner, who won the MotoGP World Championship with Ducati and later with Repsol Honda, remains a defining figure in the sport even years after the end of his career. His title win in 2007 with Ducati was the first in the premier class for the Italian brand. Despite the fact that riders such as Valentino Rossi, Marc Márquez, Jorge Lorenzo and Mick Doohan have won more championships, Stoner is still regarded as one of the most talented riders in MotoGP history.
With his induction into the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame, he also received the special “Legend” status, which has only been awarded to four out of a total of 99 members of the Hall of Fame.
