Buell Super Cruiser 2 1

Buell Super Cruiser undergoes endurance testing prior to market launch

Buell Motorcycles is preparing for the market launch of the new Super Cruiser and is currently subjecting the model to intensive endurance testing in the US. A specially assembled team of riders and engineers will push the motorcycle to its limits under various conditions to test its reliability and performance.

Four-week endurance program

The test period will last four weeks and begin in Arizona, where the motorcycle will be exposed to extreme heat conditions. The focus will be on testing fuel metering and performance at high temperatures. The stability and control of the fuel system in hot conditions will also be evaluated on the oval test track at the Toyota Proving Grounds.

In the second week, the Super Cruiser will be taken to Colorado, where it will be brought to an altitude of around 4,300 meters (14,115 feet). At this altitude, there is significantly less oxygen, which requires the engine control unit (ECU) to adapt to changing altitudes in real time.

Further tests are planned for weeks three and four in Nevada and California. This includes a run on the Las Vegas Strip during rush hour to test the motorcycle’s performance in heavy city traffic and high heat conditions.

Market launch in sight

Buell has announced that it will soon be presenting the Super Cruiser to the public. Since the brand’s return to the British market in May, initially through the Rainbow Moto dealer in Newton Abbot (Devon), sales figures are said to have been positive. The dealer network is currently being expanded. In addition to the Super Cruiser, the Super Touring model will also soon be available in the UK.
