BMW Motorrad relies on consistency and fresh forces in racing
For the 2024 season in the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC), BMW Motorrad is relying on a mix of proven forces and new energy. The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team will be led by established riders Markus Reiterberger from Germany and Ukrainian Ilya Mikhalchik. These experienced riders will be joined by French veteran Sylvain Guintoli, who joins the team as a new regular rider. Guintoli, a veteran of racing, brings his extensive experience to the team, including titles as 2014 Superbike World Champion and 2021 FIM EWC World Champion.

Long-standing collaboration and fresh talent for BMW Motorrad
Reiterberger and Mikhalchik have been part of the BMW Motorrad FIM EWC project since the very beginning and will start their fifth season together in 2024. Under the leadership of team manager Werner Daemen from Belgium, the team is striving for further success. Guintoli, 41 years old and a new member of the BMW Motorrad factory rider family, is regarded as one of the most accomplished international riders in both sprint and endurance racing.

Marc Bongers expects a strong 2024 season
Marc Bongers, Motorsport Director at BMW Motorrad, was optimistic about the upcoming season: “After a very good 2023 season, with podium finishes in all three 24-hour races and third place in the overall standings for the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, we are now ready for the title fight next year. In Markus and Ilya we have two proven regular riders in the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, who have known the project inside out since the initial development work and have played a major part in the successes achieved so far. Sylvain is the perfect new addition. Hardly any other rider has so much experience on the international stage and especially in the FIM EWC. Thanks to his work in the BMW Motorrad Motorsport test team, he is also familiar with all the details of the BMW M 1000 RR. We are looking forward to 2024! At the same time, we would like to thank Jérémy Guarnoni, who has done an outstanding job as a regular rider in the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team for two years and wish him all the best for the future.”

Werner Daemen appreciates Guintoli’s experience
Werner Daemen, the team manager, emphasizes Guintoli’s importance: “I have been a fan of Sylvain Guintoli for a long time, even when he was riding in the Superbike World Championship and became world champion there. I’ve also been watching him in the FIM EWC races this year and I’ve always said that he’s one of the best riders out there on the track. It’s a chance for us as a team to benefit from his wealth of experience, both for the riders and for the technicians in the different areas. Different manufacturers, different tire brands – he knows everything. I hope he can help us take the next step on our way to the world title. I’m looking forward to working with him and see it as a great opportunity.”
