Already next month there will be a surprising reunion with Andrea Dovizioso in the MotoGP. Aprilia has invited him for a test.
After Andrea Dovizioso and Ducati announced last season that there would be no further collaboration, it was feared that the Italian racer would not be seen in MotoGP in 2021. At the time, almost all the places for the 2021 season had already been allocated and Dovizioso was left without a team.
At least for one test, the three-time MotoGP runner-up will be seen on a MotoGP bike again. The test is scheduled for April 12-14. Since Aprilia hasn’t had much success in MotoGP so far, they will be allowed to test more than other teams (but without the regular riders) to better make up the deficit.
“I was pleased by Aprilia’s interest and when we spoke about the possibility of doing this test, I gladly accepted the invitation to be able to ride a MotoGP bike again and to stay in form, giving the engineers my feedback,” Dovizioso said. “I wish to thank Aprilia Racing for this opportunity.”
