According to as yet unconfirmed rumours, KTM will soon present an extreme version of the 1290 Super Duke RR. The special model is to be limited to 500 units.
Precious components and more power?
There is no information about the hyper naked bike yet, but it can be assumed that the Super Duke will be equipped with plenty of noble components. One speaks of an Akrapovic titanium complete system, finest damping components and very many carbon parts.
The complete fairing as well as the air ducts are said to have been moulded from carbon fibre. The Super Duke RR is said to be 9 kg lighter than the standard model.
A certain increase in performance can also be expected. However, the question remains whether the increased performance can only be achieved with special parts without road approval and thus may only be used on the race track.
The current Super Duke R has an output of 132 kW or 179.5 hp at 9,500 rpm and a torque of 140 Nm at 9,500 rpm. The suspension is from WP, the brakes from Brembo. The empty weight is specified as 189 kg.
The KTM 1290 Super Duke RR should be able to offer some better values here, if the rumour comes true.
