Brabus 1400 R 1

KTM Brabus 1400 R: New hyper naked bike with luxury DNA in the pipeline

The collaboration between KTM and Brabus is entering the next round: with the Brabus 1400 R, a new high-end naked bike is about to be unveiled.  Following the success of the limited Brabus 1300 R, the successor is now being announced for 2025 - more exclusive, more powerful and even more unique in terms of design.  Despite the financial challenges that KTM has recently had to overcome, it is clear that no money is being saved on this prestigious project.

Powerful centerpiece: The new LC8 V2 with 1,350 cm³

The new Brabus 1400 R is technically based on the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo.  This means that the revised 1,350 cc LC8 V2 engine works under the elegantly packaged chassis.  This replaces the previous 1,301 cc engine, which is still used in the 1290 Super Adventure, among others.  The power output should be higher than that of the 2025 Super Duke R Evo, which boasts 188 hp (138 kW) at 10,000 rpm and a torque of 145 Nm (107 lb-ft).  Exact figures for the Brabus version have not yet been confirmed, but it is likely to be slightly higher – both in terms of horsepower and torque curve.

Design: a mixture of retro references and futuristic elegance

Visually, the Brabus 1400 R differs significantly from its KTM base.  The new rear section with a raised, single exhaust bearing the Brabus logo is particularly striking.  The rims have also been redesigned: Instead of the classic KTM multi-spoke wheels, a striking three-spoke star is used – a tribute to past decades, combined with modern materials and surfaces.

Other design features include LED light elements, a strikingly shaped side fairing that extends to the front mudguard and wave brake discs.  The stylistic changes ensure an aggressive look and leave no doubt that this is not just a performance bike, but also a design object.

Limited edition and market launch: also confirmed for the USA

Another highlight: The Brabus 1400 R has already been included in the current list of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – according to a report by Motorcycle.com dated March 11, 2025. This makes it clear that the bike will not only be launched in Europe, but also in the USA.

Like the Brabus 1300 R, the new 1400 R will also be strictly limited.  It is not yet clear how many will be produced.  What is clear, however, is that exclusivity has a price: The entry-level price is expected to be around 50,000 euros (approx. 54,000 US dollars).

Conclusion: Technical and visual statement

Even though KTM is currently facing economic challenges, the Brabus 1400 R shows that the company wants to continue to assert itself in the premium segment – with a motorcycle that focuses on technology, exclusivity and design.  For collectors, enthusiasts and brand fans, the model is likely to have a very special appeal.
