Bilstein is likely to be known to many as a suspension manufacturer in the car sector, now they want to extend their offer to motorcycles.
Strictly speaking, Bilstein has been producing stereo struts for older motorcycles or struts for sidecars for years. Now, however, they also want to offer high-quality forks and mono struts for other motorcycles.
The forks are equipped with high quality alloy outer tubes, as well as hard chrome-plated and titanium nitride coated stanchions and are fully adjustable. Monotube units with gas pressure are used for damping.
The struts are fully adjustable and come without an expansion tank. There is the option of adjusting the preload using a knurled nut or a hydraulic system.
Bilstein has been working on the components for five years. TÜV approvals are currently underway for various models.
From autumn 2020, the first suspension components for the BMW S 1000 RR from 2009 will be released. A price has not yet been announced.
