Revised frame and ergonomics
KTM has already made some changes to the chassis to improve handling and stability. The frame rigidity has been optimized at several points: The longitudinal stiffness has been increased by 13%, the lateral stiffness by 23% and the torsional stiffness by 73%. These adjustments are intended to provide more stability on long distances and in bends, while maintaining the agile handling of the Super Adventure S.
For added comfort, the footrests have been positioned 10 mm wider and 8 mm lower, making the knee angle more comfortable for the rider. The design of the seat has also been redesigned to prevent snagging on clothing while maintaining freedom of movement and riding comfort.
WP Semi-Active Technology (SAT) – precision and adaptability
The suspension of the 2025 Super Adventure S EVO is equipped with the latest generation of WP APEX Semi-Active Technology (SAT). This technology uses electronic, solenoid-controlled valves to adapt the damping to the riding conditions in real time. New pulse width modulation (PWM) sensors and a revised through-rod fork ensure more precise and consistent damping responses, especially at higher frequencies.
Riders can choose between the “Sport”, “Street”, “Comfort” and “Rain” modes to individually adjust the suspension to their needs. As an option, KTM offers the “Suspension Pro” package, which enables further fine adjustments, such as separate settings for the fork’s rebound and compression damping as well as an anti-dive function that reduces fork dive under braking.
New engine with more power and advanced CAMSHIFT technology
The KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO 2025 has an increased engine displacement of 1,350 cm³ (previously 1,300 cm³), which delivers 173 hp (127 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. This is made possible by revised engine components and the new CAMSHIFT technology, which adjusts the valve timing depending on the engine speed.
In the lower engine speed range, the system opens the valves shorter to optimize drivability. At higher engine speeds, the valves are opened longer to allow more air and fuel into the cylinder, resulting in higher performance. This technology also improves fuel consumption and reduces emissions to meet the strict Euro 5+ regulations.
Innovative Automated Manual Transmission (AMT)
One of the standout innovations of the 2025 Super Adventure S EVO is the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), a first for KTM. The AMT offers the rider the choice between a manual shifting process using the foot pedal or handlebar paddles and a fully automatic transmission that makes riding considerably easier – especially in demanding riding situations such as when starting off on a hill or during slow maneuvers.
The latest generation of electronics and rider assistance systems
KTM has given the Super Adventure S EVO a new 8-inch TFT display in portrait format, which offers a clear and intuitive user interface. Thanks to the anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint and anti-glare coating, the display remains easy to read even in direct sunlight. In addition, inductive technology allows the touchscreen to be operated even when wearing thick gloves.
The display provides access to various driving modes and connectivity functions. With the new Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) from KTM, riders can automatically maintain the distance to vehicles in front. The ACC also has a Stop & Go function that automatically brings the motorcycle to a standstill in city traffic and starts up again as soon as the vehicle in front of you moves off.
Improved Brembo brakes and new tires
The braking system of the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO has been equipped with a new master cylinder and improved brake pads from Brembo to increase braking performance. The new DUNLOP TRAILMAX MERIDIAN tires in sizes 120/70 ZR 19 at the front and 170/60 ZR 17 at the rear are designed to offer better traction on unpaved roads and optimum water drainage in wet conditions.
Further comfort and safety features
The KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO also offers numerous comfort features that make longer rides more enjoyable. These include a larger storage compartment that offers space for larger smartphones, as well as two USB-C ports for charging devices such as action cameras or GPS units. New fans have been developed to cool the engine more efficiently and reduce heat stress for the rider, especially on hot summer days.
Availability and price
The KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO will be available from authorized KTM dealers from the beginning of 2025. For the North American market, availability is planned for model year 2026. The price for the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO is expected to be around EUR 21,000 (approx. USD 22,500).
